During the lesson on April 17, the relationship between the Italian Constitution and the three pillars of One Health—human, animal, and environmental health—was examined. The analysis focused, on the one hand, on the examination of constitutional provisions related to the One Health approach, and on the other hand, on the reconstruction of the most relevant rulings by the Constitutional Court in the three areas mentioned, up to the 2022 constitutional reform (Constitutional Law No. 1/2022), which introduced an explicit reference in the Constitution to the protection of the environment (Articles 9 and 41 of the Constitution) and animals (Article 9).
